7 UP is a caffeine-free, lemon and lime-flavored soft drink created. The rights to the brand are held by Keurig Dr Pepper in the United States and by PepsiCo in the rest of the world. 7UP is also colorless in color; however it is also comes in pink and cherry colors in United States only.
The formula for this lemon-lime soft drink was created in 1929 by Leiper Grigg and since then the brand 7 UP has been reformulated several times. For example in 2006, the version of the product sold in the United States was reformulated so that it could be marketed as being ‘’100% natural”. This was achieved by eliminating some of the ingredients such as calcium disodium and replacing sodium citrate with potassium citrate to reduce the sodium content in the beverage.
